A Small Bedside Cot That Attaches to Your Adult Bed

A bedside crib allows you to keep your baby close to you at night without having to get out of bed. The breathable fabric allows you to easily see your baby, and they're super easy to lower for those bleary-eyed 3am feeds.

Some double as moses' baskets.

What is a bedside crib?

This Web page  (also called a co-sleeper or bassinet) is a small baby crib that can be attached to your adult bed, allowing your baby to sleep safely next to you. It's a method of co-sleeping that is safe and does not increase the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) like bedsharing and can help you build a bond with your baby's new arrival.

The cots usually come with a side that can be adjusted so that you can easily reach your newborn throughout the night for feeding and comforting. This is particularly useful for mothers recovering from a c section. Many of them are portable or foldable making them suitable for trips and as a temporary solution for newborns that aren't yet ready to be able to transition to a larger crib.

Look for a crib with a mattress that is breathable, as well as a protective cover that will keep your baby safe from staining. You'll also want to purchase baby-safe accessories such as a blanket and cuddly toys.

If you're looking for a more long-term solution, some cribs come with conversion kits that allow you to convert them into a toddler bed or cot when the time is right. This will extend their life and make the transition easier. Some models have a removable portion at the top that can be turned into a bassinet. Others can be used with an adult bed that is standard or a high-rise model. This is a great option for families who plan on traveling frequently or transferring between bedrooms at night. You should also think about the size of your bedroom to ensure you can fit the crib comfortably. A lot of cribs have a riser which can be used to create an inclined position for infants who suffer from reflux.

The Joie Roomie Glide

The Roomie Glide, a bedside crib from the English brand Joie, is a great addition to their line of high-quality products for infants. This co-sleeper was designed to enable parents to bond and sleep side by side with their babies, without sharing a single bed. It's loaded with features that make bonding between parents and baby safe, simple, and fun.

One of the main features is a smooth, rocking motion that can be activated at the push of the button. This gentle rhythm can help soothe your baby to sleep without disrupting their normal sleep patterns. This is ideal for toddlers or older babies who are having trouble settling down. It can also aid with digestive issues like colic and reflux.

The crib can be locked into it once the rocking is finished to stop it from moving and can be secured to the bed's side using a strap and clip attachment. This makes it very stable and secure allowing you to enjoy a great night's sleep without having to worry about your child falling off into the middle of the room. The cocoon's rounded shape features soft padding on the sides as well as double mesh windows at both ends. This allows for airflow while ensuring your baby's safety.

The included mattress is comfortable and firm. It comes with a washable cover. The aluminium frame is light and lightweight, making the crib extremely portable and easy to assemble. The four lockable rubber-covered wheels ensure that the crib does not leave marks on your flooring and are easy to move. It is easy to clean with fabric wipes and is easy to put in a travel bag which makes it ideal for extended time away from home.

The TuttiBambini CoZee air

This model is made to be a secure, baby-sitter from birth to 6 months. It features rocking bars to allow for easy mobility, as well as castors. Its airflow mattress is luxurious and provides an incredibly comfortable sleeping surface, while ventilation panels ensure your baby is kept cool. There are six different height settings as well as an incline option to aid in reducing reflux and congestion.

Unlike some bedside cribs that can be difficult to clean due to their endless stream of dribble and snot The Tutti Bambini CoZee Air has a wipe-clean liner and fabric that can be removed to wash in the machine. It also has an upper bar that can be easily adjusted to feed at night without having to fiddle with zips in the dark.

Anna discovered that the CoZee could provide a safe, comfortable sleeping space for her baby. She was delighted the fact that it didn't roll like other models, so it wasn't waking her at night while she was trying to soothe her baby during feeds. She also enjoyed that the side was lowered so she didn't need to reach out over her partner to pull the baby out for night time feeds.

The CoZee comes in oak or charcoal and is a fashionable option for any bedroom. It looks more designer than other cribs we've seen and are typically utilitarian. It is also relatively lightweight at just 11kg and comes with a carry-on case that allows you to take it on holiday or when you are moving home. It's all you need to buy is an waterproof sheet and a safety strap for co-sleeping. There are step-bystep instructions and illustrations to guide you through the process as you open the box which makes it a single-person job when needed.

The Maxi-Cosi lora

The Iora is a bassinet designed for infants designed to make parents feel closer to their baby while they sleep. It can be adjusted up and down and shifted through three different slide positions to be placed beside the parent's bed or in the corner, so the baby is always in reach. The mesh siding is breathable, allowing air to circulate through and gives you a quick glance at your little one. And you can store extra pajamas and supplies in the large storage basket beneath.

The Iora is a smaller bedside cot that can fold flat. It also comes with a travel bag which allows it to be taken anywhere. Our mom testers found it easy to move from room to room and believed that it was a good size for a small bedside cot, not too big or too small. They also loved the large storage basket perfect for storing spare bedding or nappies.

This is an excellent choice for parents looking to sleep in a co-sleeping arrangement but do not want to share their own beds or whose partners may be prone to mobility issues, such as back problems or arthritis. Our mum testers loved the ease with which they could access their child in the Iora and that it included an optional reflux incline that helped reduce gas.

Our mothers appreciate that the mattress follows NICE guidelines. These are to place the infant in a Moses basket or crib on its own without toys, blankets, pillows etc. They also state that the mattress is comfortable and firm for baby and is easy to find sheets for. It's not as light as other cribs that are smaller on our list, so if prefer something lighter and easier for you to move around, consider a different alternative.
